IN THE CORNER

The corner site in Nový Svět touches the main square of the new district only with a small corner, behind which stretches the largest site of this new area. The house shares its south, east, and west sides with its existing or future neighbors, while only the northern side, where the terrain drops steeply, opens to a view of the opposite defensive wall and the staircase that connects Nový Svět with Hradčany.

The house stays close to the ground, seeking to offer its residents living across the entire site, not just within its walls. Movement within the house is deliberately linked to the possibility of extending the path and stay through atriums and terraces, allowing light and nature to flow freely inside. The layout of the house faithfully reflects the needs of family living – compact, yet intimate and closely connected to the ground.

On the northern side of the site lies the studio, connected to the house – on the ground floor by a direct entrance from the living room and on the upper floor by access from the bedroom. It thus becomes a natural extension of the house, accessible both in the daily rhythm and in the more private upstairs area. The studio remains part of the whole – offering a quiet place for work without being cut off from everyday life.
