Fragmented Nature: Seeking Hidden Values
You’ve heard this many times before. This world is incredibly fast, time flies, and everyone is always in a rush. I often find myself tired or stressed from all the things that need to be done and achieved. And I believe many of you have even more on your plate. Over the past year, I reduced my use of social media and stopped reading the news. I wanted to see what it would be like not to share anything about my life. It was an amazing year. I found out about some things much later, but through conversations rather than passive reading.
I tried to make time and space for painting, creating, and traveling. And time flew by even faster. Somehow, I realized along the way that it’s not about slowing down, but about PERCEIVING. Trying to become aware of life and its individual moments, even the chaotic and stressful ones.
I have a fascination with shadows. When the sun shines and something is revealed to me in a new way, or conversely, hidden. So, I have long been trying to perceive the world behind the shadows. Both literally and metaphorically. I grew up in an environment where poverty and a simpler lifestyle had their strong values and, above all, a connection with nature.
Today, we are so fragmented, and the term “fragmented nature” is not just about vegetation but also about us, people, and the world. My intention is to point out that this fragmentation does not have to be necessarily negative. It can be enriching if you start to seek your values, truth, and perceive it.
You can reflect on anything, just observe or perceive, ask questions, accompanied by my paintings of nature and imaginary drawings. It is then important to take responsibility for what you discover. And I would be happy if you share it with me.
